PIL is the largest privately owned
Singaporean shipping line. Founded in 1967, PIL has grown
from its relatively modest beginnings as a coastal shipping
company, to become one of the largest shipowners in Asia. Today
it is ranked 19th amongst the top container ship operators
in the world.
PIL is the second largest user of
the Port of Singapore with throughput exceeding 2 million
teu annually. With approximately 97 owned and managed vessels,
PIL operates regular services in the region from East
Africa, the Middle East Gulf, the Indian Sub-Continent, South East
Asia, the Far East, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand; with
Singapore as the hub. It has recently extended its services
through to Europe & East Coast South America, Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea.
PIL also has interests in container manufacturing
plants in China and Indonesia, container depots and distriparks
throughout Asia, and real estate. The PIL network operating
out of Singapore provides perhaps the most comprehensive network
of services for shippers to and from all ports in the
region.
New Zealand / South East Asia Service
PIL operates a weekly service from Port Kelang and Singapore to New Zealand.
Operated jointly with OOCL, NYK and MOL links 5 vessels on a 35 day round voyage:

Equipment : 20ft, 40ft, and hi-cube containers for
both general and reefer, plus special equipment containers
